Mrs. Brown Hasn't Got a Lovely Daughter

Diane Ravitch encountered considerable flack when in criticizing Campbell Brown's failure to understand any of the benefits of tenure, she mentioned that Brown is "telegenic" and pretty.  It was the compliment, not the criticism that evoked the most ire.  So, in that vein, and not wanting to insult her, I have reworked the 1965 British-Invasion song, "Mrs. Brown."

Mrs. Brown Hasn't Got a Lovely Daughter

Mrs. Brown hasn't got a lovely daughter
Girls as sharp as her hide their donors
But it's sad, she doesn't love tenure
She's made it clear enough, it ain't no good to teach

She wants to delete my due-process rights
Tell her I must keep them just the same
Things have changed, she doesn't love tenure
She's made it clear enough, it ain't no good to teach

Walkin' about, even in a court, well
She'll pick me out, "first in needs to be first out"

If she finds that I've got seniority
Tell her that I'm well and teachin' fine
Don't let on, don't say, "She stabs my heart"
I'd pay my lawyer fees, but it's no good to teach
