Charter schools first step on shore. Unable to fend for themselves, the public schools assist. Some charters reject students with disabilities or accept only a very few. Some charters have lower proportions of English-language learners. Some enforce harsh discipline. Some lose many students through planned attrition to weed out the weakest. For some charters, tests are their weapon of choice and they aim their guns at the public schools. They claim public status for themselves, yet, refuse audits.
Claiming superior civilization, more and more charter schools come ashore. The public students resist, but are overcome by the forces of greed, limitless wealth and corruption. Public schools become overcrowded reservations in which persons either have second-class citizenship or none at all. Students, sometimes those with the greatest needs, are shuffled around the City from school to school. Some charters have their eyes upon their prime space. I ask you, who are the real savages?
