Mr. Popper's Penguin Plots to Up his Lexile Score!
What kind of mind would find it necessary to attempt to reduce works of literature to raw numbers based primarily upon vocabulary and sentence length as opposed to content or theme? It must be people of the same mindset who seek to put a single number upon me through the APPR evaluation scale. I humor myself by remembering my favorite quote from "The Prisoner":
Number 6: Who are you?
Number 2: The new Number 2.
Number 6: Who is Number 1?
Number 2: You are Number 6.
